Drew Barrett is a singer/songwriter, producer/engineer from New York. He has been writing, recording, and performing music for over ten years. Drew began his music career fronting the hard rock band Barakade. Barakade released a full-length CD titled Volume 1 in 1995. Drew co-wrote all 12 songs on the disc. Several songs from that release went into heavy rotation on many college and commercial radio stations in the USA. The band was also popular overseas in Europe and Japan. Since the band's break-up in 1997, Drew has been working on his solo album. The new CD, titled The Strolling Minstrel, was released in July 1999. Because Drew plays all the instruments, with the exception of two bass guitar tracks, the album took two and a half years to record. Drew's production techniques, coupled with strong songs with catchy melodies create a unique signature sound. Drew will be touring throughout 1999 and 2000 to support the new album.
