Cherry. A cute and interesting girl that I really enjoyed to drew. She's a badass with a lot of sense of fashion who loves wear originals things that represent her, in her miltary style jacket I put some Venezuela refferences, just like the flag, and she enhanced it more her adding some accessories and cutie patches. Her hair has blue reflexes and shadows, she has blue and almond eyes. I used a mixed media method, with colored pencils and wattercolors. Close text

Let's do an excercise, and think this: If right now the country where you are living runs out electricity #128204 In one hour, all patients in intensive care would die #128204 In 15 hours, everyone would run out insuline #128204 In 20 hours, it would stop coming out water of the tap #128204 In one day, the food in the houses's fridges would start to rot #128204 In two days, all the babies that are in units of neonates would die #128204 In three days, the stored water would stop beeing potable #128204 From the fifth day, patients who need dialysis will die That would be really bad right? It would be an enormous catastrophe. Well, that's what happened in Venezuela, in some places this situation is still happening. More than 100 hours without electricity. And people is trying to survive. There have been looting, and many deaths. People started drinking water from contaminated rivers, they have been collecting contaminated water just to satiate their children's thirst. It had been a nightmare. 269 people died in 4 days... And well, as I didn't had so much to do, so I tried to express some of my feelings and frustration drawing one of the candles that we were using in my house to illuminate the night... for me all the darkness had a meaning, had all the despair and uncertainty of the Venezuelan people. I just represented this darkness with the thoughts that I had in those moments of despair, and I think that this were part of the thoughts of all Venezuelans. I really hope you like it, and in some way, I hope you can feel a little bit of what I felt through my art. Close text

This is a piece that I worked on for a long time. I finished it about a year ago or so. The detail took a while but I guess that's what I like to do when I'm determined. I am quite fascinated with the octopus. I have learned that they are pretty brilliant and can change color to adapt to any natural surrounding. In captivity they are known to open jars and figure out problems. Sorry to cram ya with facts and such I just think they're pretty cool. This photo really doesn't do justice for the actual piece. Promise. Close text
